AFAIK, the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter is a virtual adaptor for sharing your internet connection (ie. Making a wifi hotspot, or 'hosted network').
Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi Miniport is a device driver that lets you wirelessly share your Internet connection to other devices. This is useful if your business laptop relies on the LAN port for Internet and you wish to share the Internet connection to your smartphone or tablet. If you are unable to share your Internet connection, uninstall the Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi Miniport driver so Windows can install a fresh driver the next time you restart your computer.

Click the Windows 'Start' button and type 'Device Manager' (without quotes) in the Search field. Click 'Device Manager' from the search results.

Double-click 'Network Adapters' and right-click 'Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter' to bring up a pop-up menu.
